Call for Papers

7th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics and Control

Student Paper Competition

As part of the

2009 ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC 2009)

San Diego, California

August 30 - September 2, 2009

The ASME Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics Technical Committee (MSNDTC) invites students to submit papers to the MSNDTC Student Paper Competition. This inaugural competition will be first held at the 7th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics and Control as part of the ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences in San Diego, California, USA, August 30-September 2, 2009.

Three prizes (First, Second and Third) will be awarded. These prestigious awards will be presented after a careful and detailed review of both the written paper and an oral presentation by a panel of highly qualified judges. The First Place Award carries an honorarium of $250, the Second Place Award carries an honorarium of $150, and the Third Place Award carries an honorarium of $100.

The manuscripts must be submitted electronically as pdf files in ASME conference format through the IDETC 2009 web page at http://www.asmeconferences.org/IDETC09, by February 6, 2009. To enter this competition, the authors MUST select the Student Competition submission option on the ASME webtool. The first author of the paper must be a student at the time of submission, and shall not be an author of more than one paper in the competition. If selected as a finalist, this student shall present the paper at a special session early in the IDETC 2009 in addition to the regularly scheduled presentation. Manuscripts with more than two authors are not eligible and a faculty adviser shall not be a co-author in more than two papers in the student paper competition.
